the balance of the universe is restored
I had a shift in the ER today–11am to 7pm. Not entirely thrilled to be working on the day after thanksgiving. But, I knew it was going to be a good day when I got to the garage at the hospital and the best parking space (closest to the exit to the hospital–you all know what I’m talking about) was open amongst a floor of full parking spaces. Just for me?!?!?! A good thing happened to the mudphudder for once!
1pm-ish: a 54 yr old male with HIV comes into the ER for a medical code–rule out a heart attack. I am cutting off what clothes I could and going through them and through his coat for some medication that he takes. The patient is stablized and one of the nurses notices some excoriations on his abdomen asks him what the deal is, to which he replies, “I have… what is it… scabies.” Silence.
The balance of the universe is restored.
