osteopathic medicine and my spine
I worked with a resident in the E.R. today who did his training at an osteopathic medical school (and is therefore a D.O. instead of an M.D.) so he has training in manual spine manipulation. We got to talking and he offered to check out my back. Years of sports has left me with occasional lower back aches so I accepted. So in one of the critical care bays I had my spine realigned. Smart idea? I don’t know yet. But it sure felt interesting. Think cracking your knuckles except instead of your knuckles, it’s your spine…
