my first residency interview
Tomorrow. I made into Chicago in one piece with little trouble. Note, if you do fly to Chicago–either Midway or O’hare airports–and you’re not renting a car, take the metro/subway/L (whatever you want to call it) into town. It costs much less than a cab ($2 vs. $50) and it’s convenient.
Ran into some trouble at the hotel–was told I’d have free wireless internet in my room when booking but now I’m told I have to pay for it. Of course I explained what I was told when booking but the manager would only give me some run around. I don’t know what you can do but pay. I guess if there is something you really want in a hotel and are told it is free–get it in writing. Amateur mistake on my part.
About to go and walk over to where I will interviewing tomorrow. That’s key–gotta scope out the route for tomorrow morning.
Chicago’s nice–reminds me a lot of new york, which is good if you are a city person.
More later…
