mudphudder life update
So this is how I spend my time off. I am currently in a 2 week stretch without clinical rotation and off from residency interviews for another week and a half. Fortunately or unfortunately, I’ve got a number of manuscripts to wrap up. Making progress but it’s the final details that makes writing a manuscript such a time consuming enterprise. Writing a draft manuscript is actually not that hard. I used to be quite intimidated by writing a manuscript, but one day I thought back to college and writing monster-sized papers overnight. If I could do that, why can’t I blast out a paper on something I actually know about, right? Of course, once I figured that out, I became aware of the fact that it’s the final edits and revisions to the text and figures that take forever. Well, that’s where I’m at with the manuscript that is closest to completion right now. It’s all good I guess. It has finally become cold around here and that has sapped my motivation to get out of the house.
Anyway, I got a good workout in–my first in a week and a half because of traveling for residency interviews. Painful. I hope to get back to form in a few days.
Also working on this blog–having a great time. I wish I had started long ago! There are over 50 funding opportunities–grants, research monies and fellowships–for medical students, graduate students, residents, postdocs, fellows and attendings posted off of the funding opportunities page; but I am still working on organizing opportunities according to your status. It should be up and running soon, and it will be sweet!
